Herman Stenko is a fashion designer and educator with over four years teaching across leading institutions. He teaches on the Advanced Fashion Program at Central Saint Martins each summer — an intensive masterclass for final-year and recently graduated designers that carries them through the full creative process, from research and concept to pattern cutting, construction, and a final runway show. Alongside this he teaches Foundation and Portfolio Preparation at Galatea Art Center, guest lectures at UAL Foundation and VR Academy Dubai, and tutors applicants to Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, FIT, and Parsons.

His approach centres on two things: helping each student uncover and trust their own creative voice, and translating that voice into a portfolio strong enough to win a place at the schools they're aiming for. Rather than impose a house style, he draws out what's distinctive in each designer and gives it the structure, craft, and clarity to stand on its own. Much of that happens at the table — he teaches the way he works, hands-on through pattern cutting, construction, and material experimentation, so students leave not just with stronger ideas but with the technical command to realise them.

He teaches from practice, not theory. A Central Saint Martins graduate now completing an MA in Fashion Marketing at London College of Fashion, he won the LVMH Nona Source project, working alongside designers from Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Loewe on sustainability and fabric innovation, with the resulting collection shown in Paris and London. He has collaborated on menswear with Alexander McQueen and designed at Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, with earlier hands-on work in pattern cutting and production. It's experience he brings straight into the studio and the tutorial — a creative, hands-on way of working that helps students take an idea all the way to a finished garment and find something original in the material itself.
